LONDON FASHION WEEK SS13: Graduate Showcase – Serena Gili

Central Saint Martins graduate Serena Gili took structured clothing to a whole new level. Skirts were produced using heavy duty materials to create a structural shape. Serena Gili took inspiration from sculptor Anish Kapoor which is evident within her highly structured collection. Metallic was another theme of the looks, skirts were all with a metallic sheen, either matte or shiny paired with a matching coloured metallic bib style top with fine pleats.

GRADUATE SHOWCASE – Serena Gili

Central Saint Martins’ Serena Gili’s took an altogether different approach, with more structure, « focus »-oriented designs. Drawing on influences from sculptor Anish Kapoor, Gili’s architectural metallic skirts and meticulously embellished bibs were a fine representation of the designer’s disciplined ‘devotion to her work’.
“This is an amazing opportunity to show our (designs) in context out of school. It’s good to be able to talk to people about your work and get their feedback.”
